Information about Mexico

An overview of the country's attractions and the activities you can enjoy there.

Mexico is vast and has a diversity of reliefs and climates. For this reason, you will find a wide variety of tourist sites throughout the country.

Among the attractions present throughout the country are the archaeological sites. Many of them are easily accessible to tourists, and present structures of interest due to their large size and/or decoration. Some are very popular, such as Chichén Itzá, Palenque, Teotihuacán and Tulum, while others are more remote and truly amazing, such as Calakmul.

Continuing with the cultural aspect, in different states there are the so-called Pueblos Mágicos (Magical Towns), which are characterised by their historical and traditional richness.

On the other hand, Mexico is also known for its beaches, many of which are considered among the best in the world. On the Pacific coast there are, to mention a few, Acapulco, Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, Huatulco and Puerto Escondido. On the Atlantic side, the Riviera Maya on the Yucatán Peninsula is famous, with destinations such as Cancún, Playa del Carmen and Tulum receiving crowds of domestic and foreign tourists.

Special mention should be made of the cenotes, which are like natural cavities with water at the bottom. In the Yucatán peninsula, there are cenotes everywhere, and they can be found open, closed or underground.

For those interested in wildlife watching, especially in the southern states there is a great biodiversity and natural areas. However, it should also be mentioned that the arid northern states are home to a large number of species that live only in these dry environments.

To reach the various destinations in the country, there is a system of paved roads and airports in the main cities. There are flights from abroad to Mexico City, as well as to other airports such as Cancún, Monterrey, etc.
