Information
It is a locality of the department of Piura, in the north of Peru. It is on the Pacific coast, about 12.6 km from Mancora.
It has a wide beach and a promenade of about 500 metres, ideal for a walk with a view of the sea. The central area is around the Plaza de Armas (main square), where there is a variety of shops, restaurants and places to have a drink. Nearby is a market selling local products.
There are agencies that offer boat trips for humpback whale watching. Bear in mind that the time of the year when these cetaceans are present is from July to October.
To get there, buses come and go from Mancora all day long. There is also public transport from Chiclayo, Chimbote, El Alto, Lima, Piura, Sullana, Talara, Trujillo and Tumbes.
