Villa Ventana

Information

It is a town in the Argentine province of Buenos Aires, located in a flat area surrounded by hills belonging to the Sierras de Ventania (Ventana) region, the highest mountain system in the province.

It has restaurants, shops where you can buy groceries and there is a tourist information office at the entrance to the town. It also has many accommodation options, which makes it an ideal place to stay when you want to visit Ernesto Tornquist Provincial Park, as it is located close to this protected area, about 10 km away via a paved road. In fact, during peak tourism periods such as long weekends or holiday seasons in Argentina, it is recommended to book hotels or cabins in advance, as availability is usually limited and they can even become fully booked.

It has a recreational area with a small dam on the Belisario Stream, which runs along the eastern side of the town. The place is surrounded by greenery and offers a view of the hills in the distance as a backdrop. Without a doubt, it is a great place to have a picnic around the waterway and enjoy the natural surroundings. There is also a municipal campground equipped with tables, grills, restrooms and showers.

How to get to Villa Ventana:
— By bus: there are bus lines that arrive from the cities of Bahía Blanca, Buenos Aires and La Plata.
— By car: the town can be reached via Provincial Route 76, which is paved. Upon entering the town, the internal road is unpaved.
