Information
It is a protected natural area in the state of Guerrero that occupies approximately 1600 hectares, and is located about 160 km from Mexico City. Its main attraction is the famous caves of Cacahuamilpa.
To get there by public transport from Mexico City, buses leave from the Central del Sur terminal (Taxqueña).
The caves have a total length of 2 kilometres. The first thing that surprises you when you enter the caves is their size, since they are more than 20 metres high and wide. The dimensions are so large that even musical concerts have been held inside them. In the different cavities you can observe limestone formations called stalactites (those that hang from the ceiling) and stalagmites (those that grow from the ground), which have taken on different shapes.
