Information
It is a touristic locality situated on the Argentinean sea, only 6 kilometres away from the centre of Rawson. It is very crowded in summer (January to March) and holidays, mainly by inhabitants of Rawson and Trelew.
The beaches are long and wide, and there is a path parallel to the coast for walking. It has shops, places to eat and lodging.
A great attraction is the sighting of Commerson's dolphin (Cephalorhynchus commersonii), which is a cetacean easily recognised because its head, fin and tail are black, and the rest of its body is white. The nautical excursions to see them leave from Puerto Rawson, which is only 2.5 km from Playa Unión.
To get there by public transport, there is a bus that goes to Playa Unión and Puerto Rawson from Trelew and Rawson.
