Image: Agua del Toro Dam
Information
It is a dam on the Diamante River, located at the foot of the Cerro Diamante (a hill).
To get there from San Rafael, take Hipolito Yrigoyen Avenue which becomes Route 143 for 12 km. You get to a roundabout, from where you follow the road 150 towards the west for 62 km until you reach a crossroads. There you take the old National Route 40 turning left, and after about 7 km you will find the dam. Keep in mind that some sections are gravel roads that may have loose stones.
Although this dam is not as frequented by tourists as others (Los Reyunos, El Nihuil), it is still an interesting visit, since you can take excellent panoramic photographs of its wall and reservoir. From several sectors you can appreciate the body of water with the Cerro Diamante (a hill) in the background.
