Information
It is a protected area in the province of Mendoza that preserves native 'algarrobo' forests, where you can find specimens up to 300 years old and 15 metres high.
It is located in an arid and desert climate zone, with the presence of sand dunes. Bear in mind that in summer (December to February) temperatures can be very high, and for this reason it should be visited between March and November.
It is located on National Route 142, about 58 kilometres from the town of Costa de Araujo. The city of Mendoza is about 112 km away.
There is a visitor centre and an information office with park rangers located on Route 142. There are trails of varying degrees of difficulty to explore the forest. Also on the same road 142 is the entrance to another sector called Altos Limpios, where huge dunes can be seen.
