Potrerillos

Information

It is a tourist village next to a dam in the province of Mendoza, both bearing the same name of Potrerillos. The landscape of the whole area is colourful, formed by the body of water together with the colours of the surrounding elevations. The Blanco and Mendoza Rivers can be seen in the surroundings of the reservoir.

The village has lodgings, restaurants, grocery shops and a petrol station.

The reservoir has a length of about 10 km and a maximum width of about 2 or 3 km. From the road that runs along the southwest side of the reservoir, there are several viewpoints and some descents to the shore. Some water sports are practised there. It must be taken into account that swimming is not allowed (it is risky), and the use of boats with any kind of motor is usually forbidden.

Potrerillos can be reached from the city of Mendoza by first taking the southern access or National Route 40 for 25 kilometres, and then National Route 7 for 42 kilometres.
