Information

It is a trail in the Aconcagua Provincial Park, which passes by the side of the Laguna de los Horcones (like a lake) on its way. The path has a total length of 2 kilometres and is open all year round. It takes about 2 hours to do it (round trip), is of low difficulty and can be done self-guided.

You have to pay a ticket at the visitor centre at the entrance of Horcones. From there there is a 1.5 km vehicular road to a car park where the walk begins.

During the tour you can appreciate the Horcones Valley. First you pass by the Laguna Espejo, where wild ducks are frequently seen. Further on there is a viewpoint of the south side of Aconcagua, which on sunny days allows for excellent photographs of the mountain. Further on is the Laguna de los Horcones, with a spectacular landscape formed by the water in the middle of the mountains.

This trail, between the months of November and March, is ideal for those interested in wildlife watching, as it is relatively easy to see a good number of species, especially birds.
