Information

The Petrohué Waterfalls sector of the Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park has trails that can be accessed from the vicinity of the recreational centre near the waterfalls:
a) Path to the Petrohué Waterfalls: it is of low difficulty, has a length of about 400 metres and takes about 15 minutes one way (30 minutes round trip). It is normal to find a large number of tourists. It has a set of footbridges and viewpoints, with excellent views of the waterfalls with the Osorno volcano in the background.
b) El Solitario Trail: it is a long trail that goes through forest areas and parts with a large amount of volcanic sand. It is of medium difficulty, for which it is recommended to be in good physical condition. It is about 5.5 kilometres long and takes about 3 hours one way (6 hours round trip). My recommendation is to start early in the morning, and take enough water, some food and sunscreen. The start of the trail is on Route 225, 1.3 km from the recreation area.
c) Los Enamorados trail: it is of low difficulty, has a length of about 400 metres (700 metres from the recreational centre) and takes about 20 minutes one way (40 minutes round trip). You walk through the forest, at times bordering the banks of the Petrohué River. At one point you can see the Laguna de los Enamorados with a small waterfall.
