Playa Carmen

Information

It is a tourist town located on the Nicoya Peninsula, on the Pacific coast, in the Puntarenas province of Costa Rica. It is in the middle of Santa Teresa and Malpaís. It has grocery shops, restaurants, bars and accommodation.

It has a long and wide beach, with clear sand and surrounded by a natural environment with vegetation. There are many shady spots and it receives a moderate or normal amount of tourists, which makes it recommendable for those who wish to spend a quiet afternoon by the sea.

It is a place where you can observe a variety of wild birds typical of the coastal environment. In the forest that runs parallel to the beach you can see terrestrial species such as woodpeckers, parakeets and much more.
