Laguna de Gómez

Information

It is a laguna (a type of inland lake) of about 4000 hectares located 12 km from the centre of the town of Junín. It feeds and empties its waters into the Salado River.

Laguna de Gómez Natural Park:
- This park has free public access and is the best way to get to and visit the body of water. In the summer months (January to March) it is very crowded mainly by the inhabitants of Junín, especially on Saturdays and Sundays.
- It has a wide beach for the general public, and it also has a place for fishermen and a boat ramp for those who want to do nautical activities. There is a waterfront to walk along, which ends at a dam that empties its waters into the Salado River.
- It has a tourist information office, picnic sites, camping sites with tables, public toilets, restaurants and food and drink stands. There are kayak rentals and boat trips.
- To get to the park, the main access is a paved road of about 9 km that leaves from National Route 7. There is also a secondary dirt road leading from National Route 188 along the shore of the laguna (which can sometimes be flooded or inaccessible at some points).
