Information

It is a village in the Argentine province of Catamarca, located 61 km from Belén and around 200 km from Antofagasta de la Sierra. It lies in a valley along the San Fernando River, surrounded by hills that feature striking geological formations.

It can be reached by asphalt through Provincial Route 43, from which a short detour of 1 km leads to the center of town.

It offers a few basic shops and a petrol station. On the route or main street that crosses it is its main square, and in front of it stands the colourful church of San Roque, which stands out for its simplicity and its symbolic value for the community.

Thanks to its strategic location near Provincial Route 43, Puerta de Corral Quemado is an ideal stop in the tourist itinerary that connects Belen with Antofagasta de la Sierra. Its natural surroundings, its basic services and its proximity to other places of interest make it a convenient place to rest and discover on the way to the impressive Puna of Catamarca.
