Information

It is a locality in the west of the province of Chubut. It is situated 21 kilometres away from Esquel and in a strategic place to get to know the south and the centre of the Los Alerces National Park.

It has services for visitors such as shops, supermarkets, ATM, petrol station, places to eat and lodging. There is a tourist information office in the main square. To get there, buses come from Lago Puelo, Cholila and Esquel.

It is located in an area that was colonised by the Welsh called 16 de Octubre Valley. At the beginning of the 20th century, a flour mill was installed there, which gave its name and origin to the locality, which is where the Molino Andes Museum operates nowadays. The museum has rooms with exhibits and information about the history of the place.

It is on one side of the Percy River (also called Percey), with the Costanera Avenue running parallel to it, where there are benches and some areas with access to its bank. This river ends up pouring its waters into the Grande or Futaleufú River, where there is a sector on its banks with a boat ramp. Further on, already in the Los Alerces National Park, this watercourse has more attractions such as Los Pozones with natural pools.

Something that attracts a lot of visitors are the tulip fields outside the city. You have to go there in October, but it is recommended to find out the exact date in order to see them in bloom and at the same time harvested in good proportion.
