Lake Rivadavia

Information

It is a lake in northwestern Chubut, in Patagonia, Argentina. Much of its surface is within the boundaries of Los Alerces National Park. Its tributary is the Carrileufú River (which originates in Lake Cholila) and its effluent is the Rivadavia River, which then flows into Lake Verde.

Its access is easy because provincial route 71 borders it on its eastern side, so the northern end of the lake is only 2 km away from Villa Lago Rivadavia and 20 km from Cholila.

It has different descents to its shore and trekking options:
- A low/medium difficulty trail is the Cascada Arroyo Acha trail, which takes 1 hour and leads to viewpoints to see the waterfall.
- The southern end of the lake is an area with wide beaches, camp sites and even has a public boat ramp.
- Just at the end of the lake on Route 71 is the start of the Río Rivadavia trail, which is of low difficulty and takes 2 hours. It first runs parallel to the lake, then to the Rivadavia River and finally borders another river called Colehuay or Calihuel to end at the same road but a little further south.
