It is a lake in the west of the province of Chubut, in the Patagonian region of Argentina. It is inside Los Alerces National Park, on Provincial Route 71, 43 km from Cholila and 63 km from Trevelin. Its tributary is the Rivadavia River and its effluent is the Arrayanes River (which flows into Lake Futalaufquen).
It has a public and free sector where tourists can get to its shore. To get to this place, there is a fork in road 71 that leads to a wild camping site, where you arrive at a car park to leave vehicles. From there you walk about 50 metres and you will find a descent that leads to the shore. This takes you to a beach where you can see the lake surrounded by forests and mountains.
At the northeastern end of the lake, from the same route 71, there is a trail called Mirador Lago Verde of medium difficulty. It has parts of slopes and it is about 800 metres to a viewpoint where you can see Lake Verde and in the distance Lake Menéndez.
On the other hand, if you continue south along Route 71 to where the lake ends, there is an entrance with a car park where you can go to the footbridges of the Arrayanes River. This is a trekking not to be missed, and there is also the possibility of continuing along another trail to Lake Menéndez.
