Laguna Paiva

Information

It is a lake located in the east-central part of Santa Fe Province, near the village that shares its name: Laguna Paiva. It is about 40 km from the city of Santa Fe.

The lake has a municipal recreational area on its shore that is very popular with local residents, especially on weekends. The recreation area offers plenty of shade and has concrete benches and tables, barbecue grills, restrooms, electricity and a small shop. There is also space to park vehicles outside. If other services are needed, there are supermarkets and other types of shops in the village.

To reach the lake from the village, first take Provincial Route 2 north for about 2 km until you reach a fork where you turn right. Then continue along that secondary road for another 5 km until you reach the entrance to the recreational area.

Birds typical of aquatic environments can be observed at the lake, including herons, ducks, coots and other species. The area around the water-control gate is more natural and less developed, and various bird species can be spotted there, which can be reached via a rough dirt road (that may become impassable when wet or during rainy weather).
