Information

It is a hamlet in the province of Catamarca in Argentina, located within the boundaries of the Laguna Blanca Biosphere Reserve. It is surrounded by a high-Andean environment belonging to the Puna, about 3 km from the lake that bears the same name. It is located about 141 km from the town of Antofagasta de la Sierra and about 149 km from Belén.

It can be reached from Provincial Route 43, driving about 13 km along a dirt road that crosses a completely rugged and natural environment. This road first passes around the lake, which can be seen from the road itself, and then continues until reaching the hamlet.

At the entrance there is a tourist information booth with a tower that visitors can climb to get a panoramic view of the area. The village has some services, such as accommodation and a small grocery store. It has a small plaza, and in another part of the hamlet there is the Integral Museum of the Biosphere Reserve.

Without a doubt, this site is a good option for those who come to visit the Catamarca Puna and want to discover a place with traditional customs that is also isolated, as it is located very far from any major urban center.
