Information

It is a locality in the region of Los Lagos in Chile, located on a bay on the coast of the Pacific Ocean. It has different services for visitors, such as accommodation and supermarkets, although it should be noted that there are no banks or petrol stations.

It has a public beach that is usually not very crowded and a path along the coast from where you can appreciate the immensity of the bay. There is a harbour with a pier from where tourist catamarans leave, with an area around it with parking and restaurants that specialise in fish dishes.

An excursion that is offered is to visit some islets where one of them is called Piedra Abuelito Huenteao, which has the shape of an arch or doorway and another one has a colony of Humboldt penguins (Spheniscus humboldti, a species of small penguin that is in danger of extinction), in a trip that lasts approximately one and a half hours and that in high season there is usually more than one daily departure.

Bahía Mansa is reached by the paved U-40 road, which is about 55 km from the city of Osorno. There are paved roads that link it to other tourist localities such as Maicolpue and Pucatrihue. During the day different buses come and go to and from Osorno, Maipolpue and Pucatrihue.
