It is a locality in the north of the Argentine province of Corrientes. It is 77 km from Ituzaingó and 179 km from the provincial capital (city of Corrientes). It has some services such as a tourist information office, supermarkets and lodgings.
It is in an area of circular bodies of water. Some of them can be visited, such as the Laguna Juncal (sometimes it is without water and you can only see the vegetation) which is in the middle of the town, or the Laguna San Juan which is next to it and you can go to its pier. On the outskirts, along a sandy road (only for 4x4 vehicles) is the Laguna Chivé Paso with a high lookout.
You can visit the Balneario Don Walberto Piñeiro (a recreational area) which is on the shore of another body of water where there is a sandy beach with parasols, a pier and a lookout. The complex has a camping site, benches and tables, barbecue grills and plenty of shady spots.
If you drive about 14 km south on National Route 118 you will find the Portal San Antonio of the Iberá Wetlands. There you can enjoy a vehicle tour, hike trails and observe the abundant wildlife of the site.
To get to Loreto, there are buses from Bella Vista, Caá Catí, Corrientes City, Goya, Ituzaingó, Posadas and San Miguel (confirm the days of the week they operate).
