Information

Miramar is a tourist town in the province of Buenos Aires in Argentina. It is located on what is known as the Buenos Aires Atlantic Coast, facing the Argentine Sea of the Atlantic Ocean. It lies about 30 or 35 km from Mar del Plata.

This destination offers services for visitors such as tourist information offices, gas/petrol stations and ATMs. It has a good variety of accommodations that include hotels and rental houses, along with many shops and restaurants.

The main attraction is its beach, wide and divided by breakwaters that protect it from the waves. The ones in the center of the city are broad with plenty of sand and are very busy on hot days. To the south there is a concrete pier, from which a concrete path runs parallel to the coast and leads to a sculpture with the letter M (for Miramar), a spot with excellent views of the sea.

If you go from the center north along the coast you reach the mouth of the El Durazno stream, where a wetland forms with many coastal birds. Following the stream you find green areas along the water and pass by a concrete amphitheater. A little further on you arrive at the Patricios Park, which has more green spaces and a body of water crossed by small bridges that connect to islets.

As you continue north the beaches gradually become more rugged, something that becomes more noticeable near the edge of the town. Even when leaving Miramar, after some distance you find other tourist places such as San Bernardo del Mar.

To reach Miramar by bus, its terminal receives services from Bahía Blanca, Buenos Aires city, Mar del Plata, Mar del Sur, Necochea and Otamendi.
