San Antonio de Arredondo

Information

It is a locality in the Punilla Valley of the Argentinean province of Córdoba. It is situated between Villa Independencia and Mayu Sumaj, in the outskirts of Villa Carlos Paz. It has a good offer of lodging and camping options, and it has a tourist information office and different basic shops.

Its main attraction is the San Antonio River that crosses it. In this area it is wide, with crystal clear water and a sandy bottom, and in some stretches it has wide green spaces on its sides. Besides, its easy access and its different bridges that allow access to sectors of both banks, make it an ideal place to spend an afternoon or a holiday during the hot season.

It is also possible to make a Way of the Cross to a cross located on a mountain, which is a trekking of high difficulty because it goes uphill while passing through the different stations. The entrance to the path is on Route 14, right in front of a Franciscan residence.

San Antonio de Arredondo is reached by means of the paved Provincial Route 14 that passes through the town, and connects it with Villa Carlos Paz and other localities in the south of the Punilla Valley. It must be taken into account that during the high season months of January and February, delays are common due to the high traffic, especially in the afternoon rush hours when tourists return en masse from visiting different recreational areas accessed by this road. During the day there is public transportation to and from Córdoba City, Cuesta Blanca, Icho Cruz, Mayu Sumaj, Villa Carlos Paz and Villa Independencia.
