It is a tourist village in the province of Córdoba in the Republic of Argentina. It is about 2 km from Los Cocos, 7 km from Capilla del Monte, 20 km from La Falda and 64 km from Villa Carlos Paz.
It is located in the Punilla Valley, in the middle of a mountain environment. It has some lodgings and basic shops to buy groceries.
Its main attraction is the Dolores River, which flows through the west of the town, and which can be reached after a 1.2 km. drive through the main access from National Route 38. There is a 'balneario' (a recreational area with a river) with a large park, tables and concrete benches, and a floodgate where a swimming pool is formed. There is the possibility of visiting and getting to know other sectors of the river, since there is a gravel road that runs parallel to it for a long way.
San Esteban can be reached by National Route 38, which connects it to other tourist localities of the Punilla Valley. To get there by public transport, there are buses from Capilla del Monte, Córdoba City, Cosquín, Cruz del Eje, La Cumbre, La Falda and Villa Carlos Paz. There is also the possibility of going by train, since the Tren de las Sierras has a station there and allows you to get there from the city of Córdoba and from several localities of Punilla located between Carlos Paz and Capilla del Monte inclusive (you must change trains in Cosquín).
