Information

The Duna Mágica (literally "Magic Dune") is an impressive sand formation located near the town of Saujil, in the Argentine province of Catamarca, about 13 km from the city of Fiambalá. Its size, shape, and height make it an ideal natural attraction for those who enjoy desert landscapes and outdoor experiences.

Access is free of charge. Visitors first arrive at an area where vehicles can be parked, and from there, the route continues on foot along a sandy path that climbs a hill. Upon reaching the top, the dune is revealed in all its magnitude: a vast stretch of light-colored sand that stands out for its beauty and serenity. From that point, it is possible to follow a trail that runs along the hill facing the sand dunes, or to walk directly on the sand, always with caution.

It is important to note that the site does not offer any services. It is recommended to bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and water. Occasionally, people can be seen practicing sandboarding, an activity that is part of excursions organized from Fiambalá.

For those who enjoy dune landscapes, Magic Dune can be the starting point of a broader circuit. Some kilometers away lie the giant dunes of Medanitos and Tatón, which add more imposing scenery to the experience. Together, they form an ideal route for photographers and desert lovers seeking to explore the majesty of Catamarca.
