Information

This dam is part of a provincial park of Buenos Aires, where several species of aquatic birds of the area can be seen. The Sauce Grande River is its tributary and effluent.

First of all, the most important thing to do before going to Paso de las Piedras is to ask at the tourist information offices in the area if access is allowed and enabled. At times it may be forbidden or not to visit it. There are tourist information posts nearby in the towns of Saldungaray and Sierra de la Ventana.

To get there, you can access from the asphalted Provincial Route 51, from where there is a 5 km. paved road to the dam. Another way to get there is directly from Saldungaray along a dirt road of about 20 km (it is advisable to check the condition of this road beforehand).
