Ferry from Playa del Carmen to Cozumel

The island of Cozumel can be reached by different means of transport such as plane, ferry or cruise ships, as it has an airport, ferry station and cruise terminal. But the ferry is the most economical way, and it is used by a great number of people.
There are two companies that go to and from the ferry station in Playa del Carmen to Cozumel every day. With both companies there is one boat per hour, and there are services from early in the morning until late at night. When I was there, they sold open tickets, that is, you could buy them and use them at any time you wanted (find out if this is still happening). Tickets were sold everywhere, both at the ticket offices where the boats departed and at agencies in the vicinity.
To get to the ferry station in Playa del Carmen, there is a bus station 200 metres away where public transport arrive from many places such as Cancún Airport, Cancún City, Chetumal and Tulum. On the other hand, in Cozumel, the boat leaves just steps away from the centre of its capital San Miguel de Cozumel.
