Concordia

Information

Concordia is the second most populated city in Entre Ríos. It is located in the northeast of the province, nestled along the banks of the Uruguay River and about 12 km downstream from the Salto Grande dam (20 km if traveling by road).

It's a large city with a tourist information office, shops, ATMs and a fuel station. It offers a variety of restaurants and accommodations.

It's one of the destinations where carnival is celebrated, usually on certain Saturdays from January through early March, as well as during the carnival holidays (it's best to check for exact dates).

In the city and its surroundings, there are many places to visit:
— Being located on the coast of the Uruguay River, it has beaches along its shores. One of the most popular is Los Sauces beach, which features a coastal path with seating areas, some parasols, and is ideal for walking or cycling. There's also Nebel beach, where you'll find basalt rock formations.
— Another place worth visiting is San Carlos Park, which has a castle and paths leading down to the riverbank.
— About 20 km away is the Salto Grande dam and its lake, where the beaches along the reservoir are definitely a must-see.

Getting to Concordia:
— By bus: it has a bus terminal that receives public transport from cities in eastern Entre Ríos such as Chajarí, Colón, Concepción del Uruguay, Federación, Gualeguaychú and San José. And from many other cities across the country like Buenos Aires, Iguazú, Paraná, Posadas, Rosario, among others.
— By car: National Route 14 passes about 5 km from the city and serves as the main access road connecting Concordia with other towns in eastern Entre Ríos. Heading south it links with other routes to the national capital Buenos Aires, and heading north it leads to the provinces of Corrientes and then Misiones.
— From Uruguay: access is via the Concordia-Salto border crossing, through the Salto Grande dam bridge that connects with the neighboring country.
