Information
El Palmar National Park has several trails to get to know its different environments and fauna.
From the entrance to the park on National Route 14, you take the main road from where the different walks start:
a) La Glorieta trail and viewpoint: at kilometre 6.5 of the main road, a secondary road comes out on the right. After 3 kilometres you reach a viewpoint and a place where the pedestrian path starts. This trail leads to the El Palmar Stream and a gallery forest.
b) Arroyo El Palmar trail and viewpoint: at kilometre 9.5 turn right and walk for 2 km. You arrive at a car park where there is a viewpoint and a pedestrian path called Aves del Pastizal (Birds of the Meadow) begins. If you continue along the vehicular road, at kilometre 2.5 you will reach another place where you can park and the Arroyo El Palmar trail begins. This trail is about 450 metres long, and you walk through a sector full of yatay palm trees that reaches the stream.
c) Arroyo Los Loros trail and viewpoint: at kilometre 10 there is a vehicular road to the left. It crosses the Los Loros Stream, and further on you can appreciate a wide area of meadow with yatay palms.
d) El Mollar Trail: if you go towards the end of the camping site there are two trails. One of them is short and ends at the shore of the Uruguay River. The other one is the El Mollar trail, where you will find exotic, recovering and native vegetation.
