Information

This nature reserve is located south of Rada Tilly, on a point that enters the sea for about 2 km. It protects South American sea lions (Otaria flavescens) and the natural environment of the place.

Before visiting it, it is advisable to check the exact opening hours. It has an interpretation centre and a trail that leads to 3 panoramic points, all at an altitude of approximately 167 metres. At the first one you can see the sea lions, the second one is the point where you go deeper into the sea from where you can also see sea lions, and at the third one you have a spectacular view of Rada Tilly and further away Comodoro Rivadavia.

Up there the winds can be very strong and it is common to come across the occasional pampas fox (Lycalopex gymnocercus). Different species of whales can be observed depending on the time of the year, such as the fin whale (Balaenoptera physalus), the sei whale (Balaenoptera borealis) and the southern right whale (Eubalaena australis).

To get there, the access is from Rada Tilly. Take Fragata Presidente Sarmiento Avenue towards the south, then turn right at Héroes de Malvinas Avenue, and after 100 metres you will find a gravel road on the left, which will take you 6 km to Punta del Marqués. Along the way there are a couple of panoramic points or viewpoints, particularly one called Falucho San Antonio from where you have an excellent panoramic view of Rada Tilly on one side and Punta del Marqués on the opposite side.
