Route to Cerro Avanzado

Information

It is a coastal road with dunes and natural beaches located towards the south of Puerto Madryn, which leads to some formations known as Cerro Avanzado (like a hills).

To go from the centre of Madryn, first take the Almirante Brown Boulevard. Once you pass the monument to the Indio Tehuelche (Tehuelche Indian), continue along Julio Verne Street and then Charles Darwin Street. You get to a crossroads, where you take the gravel road on the left that leads to the beaches (you also pass by the access to the Punta Loma Nature Reserve) and in 13 km you will find Cerro Avanzado.

My recommendation is to have at least half a day for this trip. On the way there is a part where you can see large dunes. There are beaches that attract attention because of their colours and the atmosphere that surrounds them (be careful, there is no lifeguard service). When you get to Cerro Avanzado, you will be surprised by the scenery of the formations.
