Information

It is a city located on the coast of Golfo Nuevo (a gulf) and is one of the most populated cities in the province. It has a tourist information office, shops, restaurants, hotels, petrol stations and ATMs. It is known as the "Capital del Buceo" ("Diving Capital") and has many agencies offering excursions for this activity in the waters of the gulf.

It is located in a tourist area, with places to visit both in the city itself and in its surroundings:
— It has a long beach that is very busy in summer, with a pier and a pedestrian path along it.
— Right in the city is the Museo Provincial de Ciencias Naturales y Oceanográfico (Provincial Museum of Natural and Oceanographic Sciences, confirm whether it is currently open or closed). It has different rooms that showcase the nature of the sea and the historical relationship it has had with humans.
— Taking Almirante Brown Boulevard south for about 3 or 4 km, you reach the Punta Cuevas (Cuevas Point) area. There is a historic park that tells the story of the arrival of the Welsh to this place through a circuit with walkways, access to the beaches to see some caves and the Museo del Desembarco (Landing Museum). Continuing a few meters along the boulevard you pass the Monumento al Indio Tehuelche (Monument to the Tehuelche Indigenous People), which stands in the middle of the road. Further on, already on Julio Verne Street, you reach the Ecocentro where there are exhibitions and information about marine ecosystems.

Among the attractions that can be visited outside the city are:
— Punta Loma: a protected area with a colony of sea lions.
— Cerro Avanzado: an area with beaches and hills with unique characteristics.
— El Doradillo: natural beaches where southern right whales can be spotted up close during some months of the year.
— Península Valdés: a must-see when visiting the region. It is a large protected area with wildlife and different sites with various tourist attractions.
