Puerto Lobos

Puerto Lobos is an old village that is currently uninhabited and lies along the coast of the San Matías Gulf, in the Argentine province of Chubut. It's important to clarify that it is not part of the Valdés Peninsula, but rather located to its north and very close to the border with the province of Río Negro.

The area offers wide and solitary beaches, all rugged in nature, combining stretches of sand with others of stone. Nowadays only a few fishermen and occasional tourists visit the place, which gives it a calm and lonely atmosphere. For this reason it can be considered an ideal destination for those seeking peace and direct contact with nature along the Patagonian coast. There are no services available, so it's recommended to bring everything you might need such as food, drinks, sunscreen and other basic items.

To get there having your own vehicle is essential, since no public transportation reaches the area and it's also uncommon to find excursions that include this destination. From National Route 3, about 85 km north of Puerto Madryn, a gravel road branches off to the right. After traveling roughly 20 km along that road you'll finally arrive at the site.
