Information
This Jesuit mission is located in the town of San Cosme y Damián, in the department of Itapúa in Paraguay. It is in front of the main square, 150 metres from its tourist information office and astronomical interpretation centre.
To enter you have to pay an entrance ticket, which is also valid for visiting the missions of Jesús de Tavarangüé and Santísima Trinidad.
This mission was founded in the 17th century, and was an important astronomical centre during the 18th century. Today you can see the remains of what was once the reduction, along with a school and a church. The original church suffered a fire, but was later restored and now serves as a church for the people of the town.
