Information
From downtown Arica, if you take Chile Avenue to the north and continue along the coast, after 3 km you will reach Chinchorro beach. This beach has restaurants and is frequented by tourists.
If you go 2 more kilometers, you will reach Las Manchas beach, which has strong waves and is not suitable for bathing. You can continue another 4 km until you reach the Lluta River wetland, which is where the Lluta River flows into the sea and is a good place for bird watching.
All this coastal sector consists of wide and continuous beaches, so you can walk along the sand from Chinchorro beach to the mouth of the Lluta River. However, keep in mind that it is several kilometers, and that after Chinchorro beach it can be difficult to get a cab or transportation to return.
