Pozo de las Ánimas

Information

It is a geological formation located on the way to Las Leñas called 'dolina' (like a sinkhole), which looks like a huge pit or depression with water at the bottom. Actually, there are 2 holes in this place, where each one keeps its circular shape (especially one of them) and is more than 200 metres in diameter.

To get to this place by car:
- From Malargüe: first you drive 30 kilometres north on National Route 40. There you take the Provincial Road 222 to Las Leñas on the left, along which you drive 36 kilometres to the access to Pozo de las Ánimas.
- If you are coming from San Rafael, it is 73 km along Route 144 and then 82 km along Route 40 to take Provincial Road 222.

From the access it is about 200 metres to a car park. There you have an excellent view of one of the water holes.
