Information
It is a coastal town in the Atacama region of Chile with white sandy beaches and clear water.
It has many accommodations and restaurants. In the neighbouring town of Caldera, which is 6 km away on a paved road, there are many more services such as ATM, supermarkets, petrol station and car rental.
Bahía Inglesa has several beach areas:
- The main beach in the middle of town is called Las Piscinas and it is really paradisiacal, where the dark rocks contrast with the white sand and crystal clear water.
- If you go south there is a long beach of about 3 km called Las Manchas.
- If you head north on the road to Caldera for 3 km, a road to the left leads to the bay and Loreto beach.
For those interested in wildlife watching, it is a place of interest as lizards and various species of birds can be seen, even along the rocks and sandy beaches close to the urban area.
