Information

Nogolí is a small village and also the name of a reservoir, located about 3 km apart from each other in the Argentine province of San Luis. They are approximately 12 km from the town of Villa de la Quebrada and 45 km from the provincial capital San Luis.

To reach the village of Nogolí you take Provincial Route 3, which is fully paved and connects it southward with Villa de la Quebrada and the provincial capital. Just 5 km from the village lies National Route 146, also paved, which leads south to the city of San Luis (and even continues to San Rafael in the province of Mendoza) and north to the town of Luján.

The village offers some basic services such as a tourist information office, lodging, and shops where groceries and essential items can be purchased.

Without a doubt the main attraction of the area is the Nogolí reservoir, surrounded by mountain ranges that frame a stunning landscape. A road with scenic viewpoints borders its western side, allowing visitors to explore it and see both the dam wall and the small islands that emerge from its body of water.

Beyond the reservoir, there are other spots to discover. Coming from the village and once past the dam, a dirt road opens to the left. This road first crosses the Chico River, and further ahead reaches the Los Molles River which is a tributary of the reservoir. There you'll find a picnic area that's perfect for spending an afternoon outdoors in a peaceful natural setting.

For those who enjoy scenic drives through mountain roads, an excellent option is to take Provincial Route 35 which skirts the reservoir and continues southeast. This fully paved road stretches 49 km from the village of Nogolí to its intersection with Provincial Route 9. It crosses the San Luis mountain range and offers a unique journey with breathtaking landscapes, elevated viewpoints and panoramic vistas. In addition to the Nogolí reservoir, the route also features views of the Esteban Agüero dam.
