Information

Puerto Montt is the most populated city in the Los Lagos region in southern Chile. It is located on the shores of the Reloncaví Sound, in a setting where the coastal landscape blends with urban activity.

It is a large city that offers a variety of services such as shops, restaurants, car rentals, ATMs and fuel stations. Accommodation options are numerous and suited to different budgets.

It has a long waterfront, with various sections featuring pedestrian paths that allow for pleasant walks and the chance to explore its parks, plazas, sculptures and green spaces. To the west of the city lies Luis Ebel Park, which has a body of water, a trail with viewpoints and informational signs, and an urban wetland where birdwatching is possible.

There are many tourist attractions to discover both in the surrounding area and beyond the city:
— Tenglo Island: a large island located right in front of Puerto Montt, separated by the Tenglo Channel. They are very close, in fact in one area their shores are only 150 meters apart. Boats travel back and forth between the city and the island, making visits easy.
— Alerce Andino National Park: a protected area with trails that lead through native forest and lakes, in a setting of pure nature.
— Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park: ideal for direct contact with nature, with paths that lead to waterfalls (including the well-known Petrohué Waterfalls), a lake and mountains, among which the imposing Osorno Volcano stands out.
— Puerto Varas: a city that is very popular with tourists and has good infrastructure. It features a waterfront along Lake Llanquihue and a beach area.
