Information

It is a national park located on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. Within its boundaries it includes a land portion and a marine portion, and is an area of great biodiversity. It receives many tourists, since it is possible to do trekking activities, wildlife watching, and there are stretches of beach assigned for swimming and snorkelling.

It has two easily accessible sectors:
- Playa Blanca Sector: the entrance is right next to the town of Cahuita, from where you can get there on foot. There is an information office and toilets. This sector is characterised by its proximity to the sea, with excellent white sand beaches, and where it is common to find raccoons and monkeys.
- Puerto Vargas Sector: the access is on Route 36, about 3.5 km from Cahuita. At the entrance there is an information office and parking. From there you can take a pedestrian or vehicular path to the recreational area of the sector, where there is a picnic area, toilets and a beach.

Both sectors are linked by trails that continue one from the other and cross the entire park. These trails have a total length of 8.4 km, and alternate stretches of wooden walkways, dirt roads and descents to beaches. A large number of native fauna species can be observed along the entire route.
