Limón

It is a province that covers the east of the country, extending from the border with Panama in the southeast to the border with Nicaragua in the northeast. Thus, the entire Atlantic coast of Costa Rica is within its territory, with its Caribbean beaches, coral reefs and protected areas.

On the other hand, part of the Talamanca mountain range passes through one sector and there is also the summit of the Chirripó mountain, which at 3820 meters above sea level is the highest peak in Costa Rica.

Some of the well-known places are:
- Tortuguero National Park: is a natural area where sea turtles nest. In an environment of rivers and canals, it is accessed by boat.
- Cahuita National Park: it is located next to the town of Cahuita. It has trails that continue one from another and allow access to its various attractions.
- Gandoca-Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge: has a sector easily accessible from the village of Manzanillo with a trail and access to the coast. It also has another sector with marshes and a beach where turtles nest.
- Puerto Viejo de Talamanca: it is a well known destination with good infrastructure to receive visitors.
- Beaches from Puerto Viejo to Manzanillo: between these tourist towns, there are a series of beaches that are practically one after the other.

Regarding the climate, there is no dry season on the coast and it can rain at any time of the year. And particularly there are areas such as the Tortuguero and Braulio Carrillo National Parks, which are among the areas with the highest rainfall in the country.
