Unzué Park

Information

It is a park in the city of Gualeguaychú in the province of Entre Ríos in Argentina. It is a large green space located along the banks of the Gualeguaychú River, which can be reached from the urban area by crossing the Méndez Casariego Bridge. It is one of the city's main attractions and a popular recreational area frequented by both local residents and the many tourists who visit during long weekends, the warmer months and the carnival season. It is an ideal place to spend the day having a picnic or enjoying a hike outdoors.

There is plenty to see for those who want to explore the park. On one side, the riverfront is long, and one section features a riverside promenade called La Delfina with benches and barbecue grills. There is also a botanical reserve where visitors can appreciate a large area of native vegetation. In addition, the park has a Stations of the Cross trail, with each station located along an easy walking path.

Within the park is the Laguna del Parque, a body of water with a pedestrian walkway and benches along one of its shores. Many birds can be seen there, including domestic species as well as native ones such as the Rosy-billed Pochard (Netta peposaca), the Ringed Teal (Callonetta leucophrys) and many other species typical of aquatic environments.
