Las Piedras Municipal Reserve

Information

This is a protected area located in the outskirts of the city of Gualeguaychú.

It has a park ranger and is open to visitors, especially on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays (it is recommended to call before going to confirm schedules). There is a place to park vehicles and toilets. It is advisable to bring water and mosquito repellent, especially in the warmer months (November to April).

It has 3 trails of low difficulty to walk through it and get to know its environments:
- Sendero del Río: it is about 1800 metres long and takes approximately 90 minutes to do it. Along the way there are a couple of exits to the shore of the Gualeguaychú River.
- Sendero del Arroyo: it is about 700 metres long and takes about 30 minutes. A great part of the route goes along the Las Piedras Stream.
- Sendero Tapey: it is about 900 metres long and takes about 40 minutes.

To get to Las Piedras from Gualeguaychú, first take the Primera Junta Avenue, which becomes the asphalted Provincial Route 20 when you leave the city. It is a 10 km drive, and a little before reaching National Route 14 there is a dirt road on the right. It is 4 km along this road to the entrance of the reserve. From this entrance it is 900 metres by car to a car park, and from there it is a 100 metre walk to where there is a registration booth and the entrance to the trails.
