Information
It is a tourist locality neighbouring Bariloche, more precisely in the area bounded by the Limay River in the northeast and by the Ñirihuau River in the southwest.
It has a tourist information office on National Route 40. It has a petrol station, ATM, shops, restaurants and lodging.
An attraction is its public beaches on Lake Nahuel Huapi, among which we can mention the following:
- Boca del Río Limay: it is the source of the Limay River in Lake Nahuel Huapi. The beach is extensive, solitary and has no lifeguard service. There is a viewpoint.
- The mouth of the Ñirihuau River: there the lake has an extensive beach, and also the river has plenty of crystal clear water and a good shore. There is no lifeguard. To get there you have to leave Route 40 and drive approximately one kilometre along a dirt road that runs almost parallel to the Route 40.
- Playa Las Bombas (Las Bombas Beach): it is small and usually deserted.
The locality also has a 1.5 kilometre long Paseo de la Costanera (a waterfront) next to Patagonia Argentina Street, from where you can access a wide beach and at one of its ends there is a boat ramp.
