Balneario Camping de San José

Information

It is a beach and campground in the province of Entre Ríos located on the banks of the Uruguay River, 6 km from the town of San José and also about 6 km from Colón. Although it is usually referred to as the recreational area of the town of San José, it is clear that it is equally distant from Colón and San José, so it receives visitors from both places.

To get there by car from the town of San José, it is a 6 km drive, of which 5 km are paved and 1 km is a gravel road. There is also a bus that travels back and forth during the day from the San José bus terminal.

An entrance ticket is required to access the area. It has a tourist information office, a supermarket and public restrooms. The campground is spacious and has electricity, a supply store, plenty of shade from the trees, showers, tables and grills. There is a boat ramp and an extensive sandy beach. During the high summer season, especially in January and February, it tends to get very crowded and the campground can become quite full, as it receives many tourists coming to spend their holidays from different towns in the province as well as from other parts of the country.

Continuing all the way to the end in a southerly direction, you will find the San José Nature Reserve, which protects the riverside environment and appears as a green and rugged natural area.
