It is a town located 9 km from Colón. It has a tourist information office, accommodation, restaurants, grocery shops, ATM and petrol station.
Its main attraction is its historic centre. You can visit the Museo Histórico Regional (Regional Historical Museum) that in one part shows about the immigrants of the province that arrived by an agreement with the former president Urquiza and founded San José, and in another sector it has exhibitions about the origins of the town.
Its campsite with a recreational area is situated 6 km away, on the shore of the Uruguay River.
How to get to San José:
- By bus: it has a bus terminal with parking, cafeteria and toilets. There is direct public transport from the cities of Buenos Aires, Córdoba, La Plata, Rosario and Santa Fe, and also from other localities in Entre Ríos such as Colón, Concepción del Uruguay, Concordia, Gualeguaychú, Paraná and Villa Elisa. There is a bus that goes and comes back several times a day from this terminal to its campsite.
- By car: it can be reached by National Route 14.
