Information
There are three waterfalls located near the town of Montezuma, in the Nicoya Peninsula of Costa Rica.
They are located 1 kilometer in total from the town. To get there, first take the road that goes south for about 550 meters to a paid parking lot, and from there starts a path that goes along the Montezuma River and alternates sections with dirt road, uphill and parts with many stones and tree roots. You reach a first waterfall that has a pond to cool off, and then you can go to two others by a more complicated path.
IMPORTANT: It is advisable to wear appropriate footwear and be very careful not to slip on the rocky sections. It is recommended only for people in good physical condition, and not to do the trail in rainy weather.
