Navarro

Information

It is a town in the province of Buenos Aires, located about 95 km from the capital of Argentina.

It has grocery shops, restaurants, lodging, an ATM and a gas/petrol station.

It has several attractions to visit:
- San Lorenzo Square, which is located in the central area. Just in front of it is the San Lorenzo Mártir Church on 107th Street (Monseñor Miguel de Andrea), and on 22nd Street (Bartolomé Mitre) is the Museo Histórico Municipal (Municipal Historical Museum).
- In what used to be the train station, there is currently the Museo Ferroviario (Railway Museum) with exhibits related to the railway that used to come to this locality in the past.
- A historical place to visit is the replica of the Fort San Lorenzo, which is a reproduction of the one that was built in the second half of the 18th century to guard the cattle against the aboriginal raids.
- The town is located on the shores of the Laguna de Navarro (a type of inland lake), where there is a large municipal camping site with services such as a grocery store, toilets, tables and camping sites.

To get there from the city of Buenos Aires:
- By bus: the bus line 136 comes every day from the city of Buenos Aires (it leaves from Primera Junta and passes by Liniers).
- By car: there are several ways to get from Buenos Aires to Navarro. The shortest (but somewhat slow) is to take the Acceso Oeste (a highway) and make a combination of routes that go through Merlo, Marcos Paz and General Las Heras, which is about 95 km in total.
