Casa de Piedra

Information

It is a tourist locality situated on the shores of the Casa de Piedra Reservoir, in the province of La Pampa. It is 114 kilometres away from General Roca and 367 kilometres from Santa Rosa.

It has lodgings, grocery shops, a restaurant, an ATM and a petrol station. It has a municipal camping site with tables and chairs, barbecue grills, toilets and showers. Just by the entrance of the village there is a tourist information office.

The main attraction is the reservoir. It has a wide shore with parasols and a boat ramp. On the northern border of the locality is the entrance to a trekking circuit called 'Eco Barda' (ask if it can be accessed and if it is enabled), which consists of four self-guided and signposted trails, along which you can see petrified logs, signs with images of birds in the area and access to a viewpoint.

If you drive 1.7 km along Route 152 towards Santa Rosa, you will come to a dirt road of about 11.5 km that leads to some beaches on the Colorado River. On the way there is a viewpoint from the top with informative signs. You arrive at a beach with parking, tables, benches and straw parasols. You should ask at the tourist information office about the times when the lifeguard is on duty and the beach is open for bathing. Sometimes kayaks can be rented.
