It is one of the gateways to the Iberá Wetlands, in the Argentinean province of Corrientes.It is reached by a road that leaves from the town of Concepción del Yaguareté Corá. An important fact is that it is not recommended to go when it is raining or if it has previously rained because the road can become impassable. From the intersection of San Lorenzo and Caá Guazú Streets, take a gravel road heading northeast, and after 1.3 km turn right. Continue for about 7 km until you reach a park ranger station, where you must inform them of your visit. Then it is 12 km more with sections of gravel and dirt up to a fork, where you turn right. After another 2 km you reach the visitor's area where there is first a campsite and 1.5 km further on is the so-called Puerto Juli Cué.
The campsite has a car park, camping sites (the tents are set up on wooden platforms), toilets, and barbecue areas with tables and benches to sit and eat. During the high season there is a grocery store.
The port has a car park and a pier from where boats and kayaks leave to explore the body of water. Short, medium and long circuits are offered, where you can see islands and wildlife.
There are also trails to walk along:
- For example, one that leaves from the camping site leads to a high wooden viewpoint, from where you have a panoramic view of the place.
- Yurumí Trail: it is about 4.5 km long. To get there, 800 metres before arriving at Puerto Juli Cué there is a track on the right (not suitable for low vehicles) that leads to a car park. It is a circular path where you can sometimes see the giant anteater (also called yurumí), a mammal that was once extinct in Iberá and was later reintroduced. At times you walk along a path that crosses a high meadow.
