It is a village in the Argentinean province of Salta. It is located at the foot of the Nevado de Cachi and on the banks of the Calchaquí River in what is precisely a part of the Valles Calchaquíes (Calchaquí Valley). Its access is on National Route 40 at about 10 kilometres from the locality of Cachi.It has certain services such as grocery shops, some basic lodging and an ATM.
It is just on the way to visit the town of Cachi and the Los Cardones National Park, since it is halfway between the two. There is a chapel to visit, and there is a river walk along the riverside with a good view of the landscape, which is ideal to take a picture in front of a sign with the name of the town.
